Chairman of Care Committee’s report 2009 The Prov. Grand Almoner has indicated the grants which have been made from the Brotherly Love and Mark Benevolent Funds. This year has seen an increase in Brethren needing help and the Mark Funds have risen nobly to the challenges. I must also note my thanks to The Provincial Grand Almoner for his support & guidance. Almoners have been continued to be contacted by the members of the Care committee prior to executive visits which has ensured that the official visitors have been fully briefed. My thanks must also be paid to Paul Muston, the Prov. Grand Secretary for his regular updates on Secretaries and Almoners, this is great as it keeps us up fully informed when contacting Almoners. With nearly 100 Lodges to administer that is no mean feat that he has to perform. I still have not had any proactive feedback from my articles in the newsletter, so I am uncertain how they are being received at large. However, those Almoners who we do contact largely react positively. If there are any issues which are not being covered, do please let me know. During the last year there have had to be changes to the membership of the Care Committee, in that W. Bro. Carl Nixon has had to concentrate on the “Travelling Keystone” and to avoid him being unreasonably overloaded, his work has been taken over by W. Bro Niall Corbett. I would like to publicly thank W. Bro. Carl for his support over the years and to welcome W. Bro. Niall to the team. I am grateful to them both. We have allocated all newly consecrated Lodges to the team, and it is great to see the growth in the Province. These actions have therefore necessitated updates on both the web page and to the year book and I am grateful to W. Bro. Bill Dwyer, W. Bro. Allan de Luca for their prompt attention to these arrangements. Finally, I am also grateful to & W. Bro. Paul Hurst for his continued help and support. Robert. C. Harvey PAGDC, Prov. GMO.
