What a very happy occasion at what proved to be the 125th Anniversary of the founding of the Lodge (last Saturday!) (Kept that one quiet, John). The Advancement of two new Members re all the hallmarks of what could have been a touch of the Fred Karno’s but turned out to be really great fun. Spanning Scottish, Italian &, I am reliably informed, a soupcon of English workings, the two visitors didn’t know whether they were on their Heads or their Arthritic Granny’s Sofa but soon the fog cleared and everything became perfectly understandable!! It really was a most enjoyable afternoon and evening which was further enhanced by the Installation in the Mark Chair of Bro Tim Page. We retired just after 19:00 and dined at 19:30 on what was a most enjoyable meal. Just to round things off perfectly, we were treated to an impromptu visit by the PGM, RW Bro David Ashbolt, who just popped in to take wine with everyone.
RW Bro David then called in to City Livery and St John’s Wood Lodges where he was again received with great acclamation.
