Derrick Silver
Derrick was born in London in 1945 and is a fourth generation mason though to his knowledge the first in his family to be a Mark Mason. He lives in NW London together with his wife Trudi to whom he has been married for over 40 years – they have 2 sons and 4 grandchildren.
He was admitted as a Solicitor in 1970 and practised in the West End of London as a sole practitioner for a number of years and is now a Consultant with a City Firm of Solicitors.
Derrick was initiated, passed and raised all in 1972 by his late father into Love & Unity Lodge 5354 and exalted into Royal George Chapter 3539 in 1976; he served as WM in his mother Lodge in its 50th and 75th years and has been WM in 5 other craft Lodges as well as MEZ three times.
He held active office in Metropolitan Grand Lodge and Chapter for 10 consecutive years being a Group Chairman and then subsequently an AMet GM/GSupt retiring from those Offices in 2013.
Derrick was advanced into Euclid Lodge of MMM together with the late Peter Reynolds in 2008 and he has served as WM in Pickwick Lodge of MMM and as Commander in Pickwick RAM – he has also been Commander in Euclid RAM and was the founding Chaplain in the Metropolitan Lodge of MMM.
