Oh my! What a fabulous evening. The food and wine were very good and the company exceptional! We were treated to a solo saxophonist during dinner playing Jazz and Blues. The raffle saw six winners each presented with a bottle of Champagne to Sabrage under the careful tutelage of Tim MacAndrews who got all 6 to complete the task. The next prize – Jerry’s cake – was won by Cora who was celebrating her birthday with us. Next were £100 worth of theatre tickets followed by 4 days cruising on the Thames, donated by Chris Clark from Kris Cruisers of Datchet, which was won by the lovely Mary Newman who said she MIGHT take Charlie with her – under sufferance! The first prize of a week’s accommodation for up to 6/8 persons in a choice of two luxury villas – donated by Cliff and Sally Sturt, was won, I am rather embarrassed to say, by me!!!
The Retro Boys provided music for dancing and maintained a good-sized audience dancing throughout the evening. The evening ended, all too early, in high spirits and great memories being made.
The next one is in two years’ time so maybe it might be a good time now to register your interest with either Tim MacAndrews or Chris James.
