Eleven teams of four took to the lush green fairways of Chobham Golf Club on Wednesday 17th September to do battle for the prestigious London Mark Golf Trophy.
With fine weather and super greens the golf was of a high standard which led to a close contest. At the halfway stage all players were greeted with a table laden with homemade cakes and savouries plus soft drinks manned by the Cats Protection Ladies.
Winners of the Trophy were “Onslow Cowboys & Indian” consisting of Henry Hobson, Tushar Patel, Nick Gimson and Liz Pemble with the “Prince of Wales team of Terry Cover-White, Richard Maggs, Malcolm Slaughter and Simon McCarthy runners up.
Mens Individual Winner was Nick Grimson and Ladies Individual Winner was Sue Ford.
Longest Drive Robert Skillicorn and Nearest the Pins Bob Hancock, Simon McCarthy and Richard Maggs.
All prizes were presented by Vanda Ashbolt and sponsored by Ray Johnson
On completion we were joined by members of the Cats protection and 64 sat down to an excellent Carvery and Cakes. Cakes were provided by Jerry Gangadeen.
A raffle superbly organised by Ricky Molyneux swelled the profits and the PGM was able to present a Cheque to Mary Morgan of the Cats Protection for £1K.
An auction was held and raised in excess of £500.00. Neil Smith sold tickets in aid of Henniker Lodge Mini Bus Appeal and raised £280.00.
In all a very enjoyable and successful day and we can look forward to next year on the 9th September again at Chobham Golf Club.
