The Provincial end of year party took place at the Imperial Hotel on 6 December with over 150 members and their guests present.
It was a most splendid evening. We were entertained by an amazing solo violinist called Naomi playing a selection of well-known classical and lively modern music whilst we ate.
At the end of the meal a draw took place which raised over £1,500. The prizes included a holiday villa in Portugal, a 4 day boat cruise on the Thames and the chance for 6 people to sabrage on the spot a bottle of champagne which was overseen by our DPGM who is a qualified Maitres-Sabreur.
The evening then culminated with two sets by a 1920’s swing jazz band called David McTea and the Swinging Magpies, to which the dancefloor was packed.
